I want to use this opportunity to throw some light on the Foundation and the Founder, Rev. Dr. Austine Ifeanyichukwu Epunam. This year (2020) will make it 13 years (since 2006) that we have been working together and I know him very well. What has endeared him to me over the years is that he does not joke with his integrity. He is so concerned about his name and family name that he is ready to forego many things just to protect his hard earned reputation.
The foundation has, over the years, been organizing Christian pilgrimage to the Holy land where hundreds of people has benefitted. In 2015, Rev. Dr. Austine Epunam was given a Presidential Pilgrim Ambassador Award as the leader of a Transparency Group that have initialed and lifted over 100 Nigerians through private partnership to the Holy land of Jerusalem without any absconders. The transparency and integrity of Sweet Home was further re-enforced and certified by the Human Right Radio, TV and Reality Magazine called Brekete Family on 12th September, 2019.

On arrival in Germany in the 90s, he lost his father who shortly left German Hospital back to Nigeria, as a sympathetic man, he was moved by the plight of Africa migrants in Europe especially those in prison and asylum/rehabilitation camps. He rescued a good number of them, and that is what gave birth to his foundation initially called “Home Sweet Home”. East or West home is best, that everywhere you go is good, but home is the best. As he continued his charity work among the Africans that were stranded in Europe, a German man called him aside and counseled him that his advocacy would be more effective if he came back to Nigeria and start off his campaign from the home front. Without counting the loss, he came back.
The foundation, in her humanitarian effort to discourage unplanned life abroad, has members across all geographical zones of Nigeria and partners both home and abroad. To join the movement, click below.
